Marisa Matos had a page on her website where any visitor could create their own personalized wheel of life and directly download the image to their computer. With the aim of starting to work on her brand’s Email Marketing, it was important to optimize this existing resource in order to attract leads for her future newsletter! In this context, I was asked to change this page so that instead of the direct download button, people could enter their name and email address and receive their personalized image by email.
For this job I went deep into the source code of Marisa Matos’ website theme. The theme used on this site was tailor-made for the client, and it was necessary to edit the source files directly. I worked with PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript to achieve the project’s goals.
Work Done on a VIP Day
- Created a subdomain and installed a STAGING version of the site (for development and work without changing the site that is available to the general public)
- Maintenance of the plugins and version of WordPress, which were very out of date and could cause problems in the general operation of the site, and possible security problems. The version of WordPress that was installed was version 6.5.5, which was updated to version 6.8.1
- Created code on the site that enables:
- Enter the name and email address in a form to receive the wheel of life by email
- Automate the new lead’s registration in Mailerlite
- Triggered the automation for the email to be sent with the user’s personalized image
- Fixed the wheel of life code, which had some bugs
- Created a plugin that allows the website’s administrator to set how the directory where the Wheel of Life files are stored on the server is cleaned up
- Several corrections were made to the site, such as errors in sending emails, changing some texts that could only be changed in the site’s source code
- Implementation of a popup that appears on the site’s homepage and takes people to the wheel of life page
